Description, Concept, Objectives
The project involves management advisory, co-design, co-financing, and phased construction of the Cultural Center, which provides a space for the daily activities of the Civil Association, while also being accessible to community and neighborhood organizations. Its uniqueness lies in being one of the few green spaces in the area and offering multiple uses, including: cultural events, concerts, film screenings, an urban garden, leisure, administration, rehearsal and recording rooms, among others.
Activities
-Application for land use authorization before the ABBE
-Funding requests submitted to public and private entities
-Design residency conducted on-site
-Collection of neighborhood endorsements for the construction of the center
-Co-design process
-Land clearing
-Construction of the project’s first phase.
Ongoing actions:
-Construction of sanitary core and enclosure of classrooms and envelope

Difficulties
The initial challenge was securing legal access to a plot that had been managed by the organization for nearly a decade, but which had recently been reclaimed and abandoned by the State—leaving not only the association without a functioning space but also turning the site into an empty lot in a strategic area of the neighborhood.
We then had to agree on a technically sound, functional project through co-design workshops, adjusted to a limited budget. A change in government administration caused the loss of previously secured funding, requiring us to rethink the project in phases.
We agreed on a more focused version addressing the association’s most urgent need: a covered stage for cultural events that could also serve as a shelter during adverse weather. Through multiple small funding sources, we successfully completed this first stage and laid the groundwork for future developments.

Future Challenges
The next stage involves creating a more permanent facility by constructing roofed classrooms and a recording studio. The increasing use of the space also requires installing a sanitary core. After discussions with the association, we decided to connect to the sewage network—a more technically demanding solution than dry toilets or biodigesters. We also plan to build a kitchen to enable gastronomic services.
